Guatemala Mission Statement: We will enter the culture with an open mind and willingness to learn and gain a deeper understanding of Guatemalan peoples’ values, viewpoints and culture. In addition, we hope to not only learn but to fully enjoy all of the cool things Guatemala has to offer. We will strive to step out of our comfort zones to take full advantage of opportunities as they arise We aspire to positively represent Gustavus and the US and spend more time learning about them than teaching about ourselves We will strive to have patience and respect for one another and those we meet. We aspire to be culturally sensitive and to bring back this sensitivity and new knowledge to use in our daily lives.
